Entrepreneurs’ Organization · Houston
Two of the most respected peer communities for business leaders. Here is an honest comparison of the Entrepreneurs’ Organization (EO) Houston and YPO, including how to qualify and apply to each.
EO and YPO share a lot: confidential peer forums, a focus on the whole leader, and a calendar full of unforgettable experiences.
The biggest differences come down to who qualifies, what it costs, how relatable the room feels, and how hard it is to actually get in.
Side by side
Thinking of applying?
You can absolutely belong to both, and many Houston leaders do. Here is what it takes to get into each, and where to start.
You’re the founder, owner, or controlling shareholder of a company grossing $1M+ a year (or $2M+ in venture funding with 10+ employees). Apply, meet a member, and experience the chapter before you join.
Start your applicationYou hold a qualifying chief executive role (president, CEO, or chair) at a company that meets YPO’s size thresholds, and members typically join before their late 40s. Membership is by application and sponsorship. Know that the Houston chapter is strongly gated: many members are grandfathered in, and new applicants usually have to start in a regional forum, which may meet only four to five times a year and can involve a lot of travel.
Explore YPO ↗Why founders choose us
Everyone in the room owns what they’re building. No hired-gun CEOs, just owners who have signed the front of the check.
EO Houston dues run roughly half of YPO’s, with a $1M revenue requirement instead of double-digit millions. More relatable peers, less overhead.
Keep your membership as long as you own a business. Sold it? You’re still family. Your seat isn’t tied to a job title.
Plenty of Houston leaders are in YPO and EO Houston. When they want the most relatable room, they come here.
